SUMMARY:WCA Annual Charter Banquet in Mansion House - Mon 18 May 2026
DESCRIPTION:The undoubted highlight of our social calendar\, our Charter Banquet\, will take place on Monday 18 May in the magnificent surroundings of the Egyptian Hall at the Mansion House\, home of the Lady Mayor of the City of London – which a predecessor referred to as ‘the poshest council house in London’. \nWe are honoured by the presence of:\nThe Rt Hon The Lady Mayor Dame Susan Langley DBE and her Consort Gary Langley and\nSheriff & Deputy Keith Bottomley and his consort Kevin Bradford \nand representatives from other Livery Companies. \nThe Principal Speaker will be The Rt Hon Lord Justice Coulson. Called to the Bar in 1982\, Sir Peter practised at Keating Chambers. Following various judicial appointments\, he was appointed a Judge of the High Court (Queen’s Bench Division) in  January 2008\, before being appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal in March 2018. Alongside his judicial career\, Sir Peter is a leading authority on construction law and the author of “Coulson on Construction Adjudication”\, widely regarded as one of the principal texts for adjudication practitioners in the UK. \nTimings will be arrival at 6.45 for 7.30 pm\, with carriages at 10.30 pm. The reception will be preceded by ceremonies to admit candidates to the freedom of the company and to clothe those eligible in the livery\, should you wish to arrive earlier to witness them. \nDress will be Evening Dress/White Tie and Tails preferred\, but Dinner Jacket/Black Tie is an acceptable alternative. Tickets will be £170 per person. \nThis year’s Charter Banquet is an occasion not to be missed and is a great opportunity to invite family members and professional guests to a truly unique experience in the City of London which will live long in the memory. The Egyptian Hall has generous capacity\, so there is no limit to the number of guests you can invite. \nThe Master and Wardens look forward to welcoming you and your guests to this exciting event.
