Mediation Skills Competition 2011

The Worshipful Company of Arbitrators is delighted to announce the prize winners in its first UK Mediation Skills contest held in London between 14th and 16th January 2011.

The Competition was won by the team from the University of the West of England, Margaret Mathieson (on the left in the photograph) and Elizabeth Evans shown receiving their trophy from Lord Woolf. They will travel to Paris in February to take part in the ICC Sixth International Commercial Mediation Competition.  The runners up in a very close final were Sarata Ishhaya (left of photograph) and Lalita Kauldhar, the team from the University of Westminster. The Master's Award for the best relationship building with the other team went to Simrita Chadha (left of photograph) and Carmel Cohalan from the London School of Economics and the CIArb President's Prize for best advocating skills was won by Keith Holland (left of photograph) and Victoria Hosking of London Metropolitan University.

The Company is most grateful for the support of the ICC in Paris, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UBS AG, Allen & Overy LLP and Bird & Bird LLP and especially Lord Woolf and all those who gave their time unstintingly for their assistance in making the Competition a success.
