13 Company Christmas Camp
As a Company we are proud of our Military affiliations, which include the 13 Company SW London Army Cadets. Today (29 November 2025) Master Matt Molloy and Senior Warden Peter King had the pleasure of attending Christmas Camp at St Martins Plain Military Camp, where, as well as presenting the Cadet Peacemaker of the Year Award [see here] to Cadet Sgt Maj Kitty Woosey (Well Done!), were also given the opportunity to participate in an Air Rifle session. Many thanks to Major Joe Drohan OC and his team for the invitation, hospitality and the opportunity to see the Cadets in action as part of the competition for the Detachment of the Year Award – best of luck for the final day tomorrow! [Update: The winning detachment was 136 Detachment (Wimbledon), though it was a close-run thing! ]
Elworth Trophy competition
In October 2025 the Master, Ms Nicola Cohen, together with Bob Coles, visited 13 Company, Greater London Army Cadet Force, South West Sector to watch the Cadets compete for the Elworthy Trophy.
When the late Marshal of the Royal Air Force, Lord Elworthy KG GCB CBE DSO MVO DFC AFC retired in 1978 as Lord Lieutenant of Greater London and President of the Reserve Forces and Cadets Association for Greater London, he presented his own Battle of Britain Commemorative Sword as a trophy to be competed for annually by cadets of the three services within Greater London.
The competition is designed to test the skills which are included in the syllabus of each organisation, together with general physical and mental agility with each team of 8 participating in 10 challenges. SW Cadets won 2 of the challenges.
