Arbitrators support sheep drive

On 29 September 29 September 2024, the Master, Wardens and members of the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators supported the Master Woolman and his company by driving sheep over Southwark Bridge, thereby confirming our ancient right as Freemen to drive sheep over London bridges without paying a toll. We celebrated in the traditional manner afterwards.

Election of Sheriffs & lunch at Founders Hall

The annual election of Sheriffs will take place at Guildhall on Monday 24 June 2024 at noon. It is one of the privileges of a Liveryman to elect the Sheriffs for the year ensuing. Following the Election, at or around 1 pm, we will repair to Founders' Hall for lunch. The luncheon may be also attended by partners or guests of our Liverymen or Freemen.

UK election derails Arbitration Act reform

The Arbitration Bill, making changes to the Arbitration Act 1996, was still in discussion in Parliament when the Prime Minister called an election on 4 July 2024. The reforms did not pass before Parliament was dissolved and will have to be re-introduced in a future Parliament - under the next Government.
