King’s Speech resurrects Arbitration Act reform: WCA discusses

The King's Speech 2024 includes a proposed Arbitration Bill to reform and modernise the Arbitration Act 1996. The company held a seminar on these proposals - see here. Election of Sheriffs & lunch at Founders Hall

The annual election of Sheriffs will take place at Guildhall on Monday 24 June 2024 at noon. It is one of the privileges of a Liveryman to elect the Sheriffs for the year ensuing. Following the Election, at or around 1 pm, we will repair to Founders' Hall for lunch. The luncheon may be also attended by partners or guests of our Liverymen or Freemen.

UK election derails Arbitration Act reform

The Arbitration Bill, making changes to the Arbitration Act 1996, was still in discussion in Parliament when the Prime Minister called an election on 4 July 2024. The reforms did not pass before Parliament was dissolved and will have to be re-introduced in a future Parliament - under the next Government.

Visit to 622 Squadron

The Company was welcomed at RAF Brize Norton by 622 Squadron, our Affiliated Royal Air Force Squadron on Thursday 4 August 2022. Operational needs meant that it was an early start for us. Visit to 13 Company ACF Summer Camp

Saturday 30 July saw the Master and Court Assistant Peter King visit our Affiliated ACF Company at their summer camp, which was held at Thetford, Norfolk. The camp is two weeks long and the visit was on the middle Saturday. The camp facility was full with cadets from across south London, their instructors and army regulars who helped in the myriad of events arranged for the cadets. Horse Guards Parade

Tuesday 5th July 2022 saw members of the Company at Horse Guards Parade Ground. The Company celebrated the 10th anniversary of the granting of its Royal Charter by HM The Queen at a Banquet held at Mansion House on 19 May 2022.
