The annual election of Sheriffs will take place at Guildhall on Monday 24 June 2024 at noon. It is one of the privileges of a Liveryman to elect the Sheriffs for the year ensuing. Following the Election, at or around 1 pm, we will repair to Founders' Hall for lunch. The luncheon may be also attended by partners or guests of our Liverymen or Freemen.
The Arbitration Bill, making changes to the Arbitration Act 1996, was still in discussion in Parliament when the Prime Minister called an election on 4 July 2024. The reforms did not pass before Parliament was dissolved and will have to be re-introduced in a future Parliament - under the next Government.

Saturday 30 July saw the Master and Court Assistant Peter King visit our Affiliated ACF Company at their summer camp, which was held at Thetford, Norfolk. The camp is two weeks long and the visit was on the middle Saturday. Muscles in Space On December 21st, SpaceX-24 blasted off from Florida taking an important experiment to the International Space Station. The MicroAge mission, from the University of Liverpool, took human muscle samples to space so as to study the impact of microgravity on muscle function. The results will be valuable in studying muscle wasting in the elderly.
